US Wrestling | For girls in New York, the first NYSPHSAA State Championship used freestyle wrestling rules

It was a historic day for wrestling in New York province on Thursday New York State Public School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA), New York High School State Association hosted the first official State Wrestling Championship for girls in the MVP Arena in Albany

The MVP Arena has been the same place hosted by the Boys State Championship since 2005. The boys immediately followed the state tournament on Friday and Saturday.

What is the more historical of the competition, New York decided to use international freestyle wrestling rules for the official girl wrestling program last year. Freestyle is the style used in women’s college wrestling (including NCAA, Naia and Njcaa). This decision will give new york daughters a preference for moving to college and beyond.

Similarly, like girls fighting in the State Championship this year, this year represented 11 members and represented both their departments and secondary school.

There were 212 athletes competing in a section and 13 kilos of classes. 16 girls in a weight class in parentheses, the final was included in 16 girls with the first six finish recognized in the next podium.

New York daughters are now known as they are wrestling are national, and this year there are nine athletes nine in the tournament tournament.

Bellport High School, part of the 11th part of the group, which scored the most points among groups with 85.5 points, gathered the most points among the winners of the four individual state.

There was a great balance in the tournament, because no team had more than one champion. Part 2 was the most private champions on three, GUILMETTE PLUS Mia Collins Burnt Hills-Scotia-Ballston Spa (132) and Isabella Satalino Columbia (138).

He became the other New York State Champion in Albany Samantha Massey Mount Markham (94), Atear humidities Port Chester (100), Teegan sibble Bolivar-Richburg (114) and Victoria Alvarado Warwick Valley (152).
