Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMSA) said the 20th anniversary of the Brazilian Olympiads of the Department of Public Schools (OBMEP) in 2025 in 2025, he said.
This year the competition will arrive at 57,222 schools of 5566 cities – 99.93% of the country’s municipalities. In total, the event was 18.6 million students from 6th grade of 6th primary schools, 3rd year from the state and private institutions to the third year of secondary school.
The Olympics will be applied in two stages: June 3 and October 25, the first, and the second will be announced on October 22.
Students awarded national gold, silver or bronze medals, developed mathematical schools for students of public schools and CNPQ (PIC) guarantees the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development (PIC).
In general, the OBMEP will distribute 8,450 national medals – 650 gold, 1,950 silver and 5,850 bronze – plus 51,000 glorious recording certificates. To further encourage students to participate, the competition will reward the best state performances, at least 20,500 medals. The State Prize does not give pic access.
Talent
The OBMEP is aimed at promoting the study of math and identify talents in discipline. With each publication, the Olympic expands and strengthens the impact of teaching assessment and logical thinking among young people.

Obmep has also become a texture for higher education. In Rio de-Janeiro, medalists in the Scientific Olympiads in IMSA Tech (bachelorhood of Art and Innovation) protect 80% of vacancies for students.
Other public universities such as USP (São Paulo University) and Unicamp (University of Campinas), also accepted the Olympic vacancies to students in these competitions.
“Medals did not recognize the talents of the students, but also open doors for higher education, and a few drivers can be used as a criterion of entry,” said Jorge Vitório, Deputy Director of the Impabil and General Coordinator Jorge Vitório.
