Arlington, VA, February 28, 2025 – The Capitol Cup race course has been opened on Saturdays. As part of Amazon Armed Forces Cycling Classic, happening May 31 – June 1, 2025, Capitol Cup races will replace the Crystal Cup of Saturday, part of the event in the last 15 years.
“I was very excited to bring a race again to DC again.” Said Robert Laybourn, Arlington Sports and event organizer. “When I hosted a competition in DC in 2001, it was logical to start moving forward in the same place and the Capitarian Cup.
1.4 km course will be located between the National Mall and the US Capitol building, 3rd St, the Constitution Ave, NW and Independence Ave, between the SW. On Saturday, the race schedule will present women Pro / 1/2 and men’s pro / 1 invitations. These fields will also take part in the second day of the two-day omnium in Arlington on Sunday and 27th Edition of the Clarendon Cup.
