Southwest Airlines‘New policies such as charging for the first time checked bags, Fitch Ratings said on Thursday.
Southwest, Southwest Credit Card, ELIT often have exceptions to travelers with highest ticket status or highest ticket classes, turns the old two “bag Fly Fly” policy.
Also, the assigned seating and no frills said the main economy fare and flight loans will end.
Fitch gave a negative rating of the company, known for a strong balance sheet, because the south-west can exceed a less conservative capital distribution and financial policy, and the strategic changes have the potential to affect the competition compete compared to network carriers.
“Items aimed at improving profitability as the application of bags and flight loans reduces the risks that exfoliate the strong aspects of the southwest, than their peers,” Fitch continued.
Although the Southwest social media posts are related to policy changes, it took angry comments on shifts, but the company said.
Southwest refused to comment on Fitch’s new worldview. The activist Hedge Foundation Elliott received a share in the carrier of investment management, and later the airline margins in a settlement last year is closer pressure.
