Overthrow

If you have not been a cyclist, read a lot of bikes written about bikes, you probably think that “service to your discounts” is a critical part of the dynous bike experience. How often does this speak? When do you have to do this? If you don’t, you will die?

Myself, in the last 5 years, rarely rarely became a period when I don’t feel like I am indifferent to at least one fork. All this happened this year (good … in fact last year at this point!) Three different brands, not two, but three of the brands I cried! Crazy Times.

You think it will be easy to perform such a reasonable thing to the practice of cycling. Roadside service cabins, perhaps? And in a sense, it. It’s easy to complete, that is. Fox and Rock Shox all gives a kind of document in the process and most people who work on their bikes should be able to watch themselves. Don’t be brave with the process. It can be a mess, yes, but it’s easy enough to complete.

You think the correct oil will be the origin process. I mean, we all always serve our most shops shoulD Only is there a whole section dedicated to this one task? But in the last year or so, while trying to find the “correct” oil for my discount, I was following the following wild gas … all from reputable bike shops!

1) I tried to try a local number of fox 20 weights 20. There is no one I call on the local phone. Ordered it online.

2) I tried to place some Fox Teflon in local 5 weight. There is no one I call on the local phone. Someone said they did to me, but when I showed me when I was trying to sell R3. When describing the damper side with vascular oil, it was really recommended that Fox Teflon had to use with 5 weight, the only thing that was recorded. I finally lived our local fox people to send me a bottle.

3) I returned to the same shop trying to sell the wrong fox, “Maxima Plush Light” is looking for a recommended rock shoe. Now told me that they do not sell fork oil because they prefer to do their work. At least now they don’t want people to sell wrong oil, so there are. So what oil do customers use in their bikes?

4) I have tried several other shops to the “Maxima Plush light” source. There was no one I have to call the local. I went to a shop and did not say the other two Maxima oil (nor “nor” or “light” or some rock. He said that he was in good 0W30s. As I left the store, the official Rock Shox has gave a volume recommendation.

I live in one of the world’s mountain bike capitals (I would argue). There are people joined by large suspension companies that will answer my emails (sometimes). I care about seeing this right (for most part). If all this is in my disposal, it proved to be very difficult to follow the recommendations for a lower service of the manufacturer! And a few stores gave me bad advice! It feels like something important to reach the bottom of this section. Forks are an expensive, critical part of our bicycles. To use the right fat in the correct volume, it seems very important to me, but no one else doesn’t really shit. Perhaps I overwhelm it? Maybe really doesn’t matter and do you cem and call a day of any oil there?

Topher, get started on obsession bikes.

Fox

I decided to address several manufacturers to hear what they had to say about the work and try to separate them from the focus. I started from the fox, because they are most similar to things with two separate and very definite oil demand.

The first thing I want from the fox was confirmed that they had different oil requirements for each side of the forks. I was my understanding that 5 weight on the damper side of the damp, through the damper, a double cycling, while gold on the side of the air chamber is only one thing. But it should be more, isn’t it? For a more formal explanation, Fox Sean Estes provided the following:

It is a part of the spell of grip, which is a self-healing of the spell of the grip, that is, it is possible to pursue the pursuit of the oil, otherwise the transformation of the performance or worse. Taking this into account, the bath oil must be the same feature as the damper oil for this system as intended.

Brian Lampman, who is in the fox, foxed everything, the engineering manager in Fox provided the following.

The fat bath for the damper side is used mainly within and out of the percentage of oil required in the full damper and from 5 to 5. Grip X & Grip X2 has a different bath oil requirements in the total 36 chassis, because they have different oil volume for the same trip.

Air springs use a different oil specification (in most cases in most cases in most cases) in most cases) (in most cases) different oil specifies (in most cases) (in most cases) (outside the upper and upper tube around the damper). Less rooms for fat, the hook allows you to wipe the foam ring and while riding.

This is some kind of interesting. Not only to be correct, your volume seems to be confused if your volumes are turned off! Mr. Jordi Cortes had thoughts about both of these topics.

We are working with a supplier to score special requirements while working on oil development. Lubrication and hydration are two factors, but the compatibility with parts is another. Many fats can actually worsen the rubber or cause a sealing and loses function. There are definitely not suitable oils, but it can be a dwarf blow. It does not mean that it is definitely working to get expensive items. For this reason, it is probably the best to stick to the factory oil, or if you have a practice experience that you trust. Volumes are also critical. You balance positive, negative and low foot volume that can make a sharp effect on your trip. Your very fat and spring curve will be extremely progressive and you can already get a little leak from pressure. You get a very little and more line of linear, but you do not properly rain in the internal and run the risk of oil loss in case of a recurring damper.

So, hit your flat, volume from the mouth of the horses and use the right fat.

Another thing I’m really interested was crushing washers! I asked how important you have opened your fork and replace your crushing detergents every time to serve your forks.

I think we have all been the crushing washers of all of us, but serve a purpose. Similar to fat drain washers, you really want this thickness to prevent the metal in the metal contact and provide the correct torque. As for the instructions, plan it, pass without going through every step, let any sharp object near your work and use the correct tools. As a tool for a hammer to remove people from falling from the lowers, I saw the rebound cover used as a tool. Generally don’t end well.

Formula

After talking to the fox, I felt very good about my strategy after the use and manufacturer’s instructions. Maybe this is just a foxy thing? Maybe another manufacturer will have a different philosophy. Since having a formula people in an email chain, I asked them similar questions. It can also benefit from the captive audience, isn’t it?

The recommendations given by the formula were not very different from the fox. There is also two fats, a damper oil and a bathroom. But in addition to them, they look much easier than the process. In Baptiste del Monte formula, it was necessary to say these things.

We offer two fats for hydraulic cartridges and FX to lubricate stanstions, as well as to lubricate the quadrate in the air chamber. The features of the two oil are different: one for hydraulics also offers various temperatures and good wear resistance. On the other hand, such as non-fitting for hydraulic oils, stansons are not fulfilling fat hydraulics. Stanchion Oil is more viscous and contains special attachments to reduce sliding friction. If you can’t find our oil, OJO1 (on the boss) can be replaced by kayaba 01. You should not use several anti-frictionless anti-frictionless anti-anti-anti-frictionless anti-frictionless anti-frictionless risk of weakness, compression and flow

Although there are no open encouraging experience, the formulas looked good by stirring in the ECOLO in a little birth.

It is not recommended to use fat in the cartridge, because it is designed to work with the boss, OJO1 or probably less viscous oils. In cold months, especially when the temperature falls below zero, there are two ways to improve performance. First, you can use the hydraulic boss in a hydraulic boss like formula brake mineral oil to make hydraulics more liquid and sensitive. Second, by mixing the FX oil OJ01, you can change the lubrication of stannes caused by the combination that improves smoothness without performance. However, it is a change for users who will change in hot more months, not only for the disassembly of oil or less for fork.

After that, I asked them by mixing with any concern about the volume of oil or with the damper.

It is important to get the correct volume in the hydraulics, to ensure proper boss functions, otherwise the formation and discount of emulsions. When it comes to stanstions, very little fat reduces lubrication, increases internal pressure with the risk of pushing the dust seal. These volumes will not affect the features of the hook.

Rock shox

My last call was with the port of Rock Shox. There were many random conversations about the hook oils (entertaining!) I had similar tips for foxes on most topics that had a few different rock shox. But I really want to know, so there was a lot of Rock Shox’s very different oils and which of the Cross is appropriate. Unfortunately I could not hit the official response from Rock Shox.

What I have learned

After all of these conversations, I went home, I did not overcome it. I fleeing rapidly in the day, I did a few crazy shots that stands fast from fat and volume. If you think you will really need anything other than the exchange of shares in this day and age, it is a suspension tuner, not a creative service solution. Over the middle-aged man, I have a rule, it is very simple to serve the service of my recommendations.

1) Get the right fat.

2) Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

3) Throw your oil properly. It’s easy in BC. Any Bcuoma Warehouse will be able to handle it. If you are unsure, search for “Gear Oil Fire” using your favorite waste app. Additional instructions can be found here.

What is it! Happy service.
