FCC Commissioner Geoffrey asked for his resignation of this summer

Geoffrey Starks, one of the two Democrats on the Federal Communications Commission, said he will step in this spring.

His progress will leave two vacancies in the commission, because the Senate has not yet approved Olivia Trusty, which is nominated by President Donald Trump earlier this year.

Starks, “I have served as a commissioner as a commissioner of the American communications commissarians, and to protect all Americans, and in this position, I look forward to working with the chairman and colleagues and all FCC employees.”

He did not give a reason to his speech, but the Punchbowl news was reported to leave his office in December.

Starks served in the commission in 2019. In 2023, President Joe Biden updated him for a new term in 2027.

The commission is currently divided into 2-2 among Republicans and Democrats.
