Thousands of Canada work well and in the middle of the growing trade war that threatens all communities. The latest US tariffs in steel and aluminum are an economic part of the economic uncertainty, which are unfair trade experience and economic uncertainty, economic uncertainty, which are economically affected. We need a leader to take true action – not just words.
The federal government should support immediate employees by providing direct salary subsidies to direct salary subsidies to determine and operate people with labor insurance (EI). Canada is also necessary to invest in domestic production and infrastructure to ensure long-term industrial stability. At the same time, the government must implement the “Canadian” strategy to ensure the purchase of Canadian-made goods and support Canadian work. The government should also expand the application of the 53rd part of the customs tariff to suspend external discharges and unfair competitions.
USW members have been in the forefront of this struggle. We will work with any government that is serious to protect Canadian works and industries – but we will not accept half a measures. Time for action now. Prime Minister Carney has the opportunity to prove that the government is on the side of workers. Steelworkers are ready to work with him to give real solutions, but if he can’t move, we will not hesitate to ignore this government’s responsibility. “
