The South African Social Security Agency (SSSA), the GRANT will be extended for another year, the Helmet-19 Social Assistance (SRD) Grant Covid-19 announced the March payment date schedule for social relief.
On Wednesday afternoon, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana announced that he left R35.2 billion R35.2 billion to extend the Treasury SRD grant By March 31, 2026.

“We will start processing the money reflecting in customers’ accounts in 20s, 26, 27, 28 and 29,” Sassa spokesman Andile Tshona Citizen Friday.

Who can apply for Sassa’s SRD Grant?
Sassa announced that applications for new beneficiaries to get the SRD grant in April.
The following are the requirements for those who are entitled to apply and receive people for SRD grants:
- Being a citizen must have a permanent South African residence or special permit.
- Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) should not receive other state support in the form of the benefits of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) or permanent social grants.
- It should fall between 18 and 59 years of age.
- Be unemployed and do not exceed R624 revenue in bank accounts.

Last year, Sassa presented a biometric inspection system for beneficiaries for fraud.
New SRD Grant applicants must fill in a biometric inspection as a compulsory step before approval for the grant.

Sassa SRD is a grant to serve the basis for basic income grant
